THE 1997 EMMY AWARDS

First off, we believe congatulations are in order for all
individuals involved in the show. We do not need an award show to
tell us all what we already know, which is that the X-Files is the best
show on television!!! But since we got an award show to boot....
PRESENTING...
Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny were the presenters for the
category of Outstanding lead actor in a mini-series or special...here's
how it went...
David Duchovny: When the X-Files began we never expected
such a global responce to the universal, spiritual yerning for the truth
that is out there.
Gillian Anderson: What David is trying to say is, who knew
the show would be such a hit.
David Duchovny: See, they talk about that chemistry, there
it is, right there.
Gillian Anderson: I felt it.
(for those who care, Amand Assante won for Gotti)
Then... as the actors were leaving the stange, Gillian and David
tripped on Gillian's dress...resulting in what would be, for many, the
highlight of the evening!!!
....AND THE WINNER IS...
GILLIAN ANDERSON
Gillian gave a lovely speech in which she graciuously thanked her
family for supporing her through her failures in life, and for their unconditional
love. Oh yeah, and for all you shippers out there...almost forgot,..there
was a small, KISS....
Gillian Anderson took out Ads thanking her Co-workers in two Hollywood
papers, the ad read as follows:
"I would like to sincerely thank Chris Carter, my dear friend
and Creater of The X-Files. Your
genius and continued support have been invaluable to me.
My special thanks to David Duchovny. Your talent has always
inspired me-without YOUR
"Mulder" there would be no "Scully."
Finally, thanks and congratulations to the entire cast and crew.
Your creativity and perseverance have lifted the show to its remarkable
success."
On a slightly more somber note, The X-Files, David Duchovny,
our fabulous writers, and directors all lost their respective catagories...but
are all ...
WINNERS IN OUR HEARTS
The Momemnto Mori writing team deserves all of our profound graitude
for writing the singal greatest script for a television show EVER!!!!
One final, far more trival note...congratulations to both David
and Gillian for their clothing choices, great, albeit slightly unmanagable
dress, nice tux, ohhh...and can you say...GLASSES!!!!
Just wait till next year...Oscars and Emmys!!!
(at least Emmys!)
